I cannot believe this. Q have reported today that Chris Cornell is leaving Audioslave for good. He is citing “irreconcilable differences” within the band.

This comes only weeks after Rage Against The Machine were confirmed to be reforming, playing at the Coachella festival and touring again. This and the fact Chris Cornell has a solo album out soon (Carry On, released 1st May 2007) (on the back of his successful Casino Royale track, You Know My Name) could be why he has decided to move on. It’s a shame. RATM were good, Soundgarden were ok, but Audioslave just brought together all the strengths of the two bands.

Check out the full Q story, here. Also previous posts on RATM reforming, and Chris Cornell’s solo career.
